It is official.  We need not worry.  Mr Obama is now the preferred Presidential candidate for Chancellor of Germany.  According to BBC News, ABC News, CBS News and even FOX News, Mr. Obama pulled a crowd of over 200,000 persons for his speech.  Oh, wait a minute, he is running for President of THIS country.  Of course we are all happy that foreign nationals love him so much.  Especially the Germans.  They have always been our closest allies in the “war on terror”.  He is like Ronald Reagan and John Kennedy all rolled into one without the right parted hair do.  In short, Ich Bin Ein Berliner tear down this wall!  But, weren’t they already Presidents when they touted those phrases?  I am curious as to why a Presidential candidate is garnering support form foreign governments?  I need to know before I cast my vote for the guy whether he is truly going to put American interests first?  I am not seeing that from him.

Jesse Helms, the former senator from North Carolina, passed away at the age of 86 today.  He is often lambasted by his colleagues and foes on the Hill.  One thing you can say about the man is that he stood his ground.  He was a stalwart conservative in every aspect.  I do not agree with many of the things he did in his 30 years of service.  That being said, I believe the man did the best he could to represent the people that elected him.  He won by small margins in all of his re-election campaigns, but he won, nonetheless.  He represented the state of North Carolina and held Washington accountable to his state.  That is something we don’t see much of these days.  When a senator is elected by his/her state, they are not an individual sitting in the senate chambers deciding the fate of the world.  They are true voices of the people of their state.  Too many senators forget this and represent their party, not their state.  Mr. Helms challenged his party to do the same.  He fought Washington on behalf of his tobacco farming constituency.  Something that was not acceptable to the rest of the nation, but, again, he served North Carolina unwavering.  A true and honest man has passed and the world is a little more ‘gray’ area because of it.

Okay, so she lost.  I am in awe of her poignant, yet solemn departure.  Our girl loses.  HRH fashioned herself a pioneer in a frontier that does not exist.  There is neither now, nor has there ever been, a less inspiring muse for the young ladies who wish themselves powerful.  In my honest opinion, HRH did nothing to further women.  She held on the to coattails of a male member of the species and forged nothing new in her flamboyant attempts at the Democratic nomination for President of the United States of America.

That being said, I have to admire her.  She has single handedly destroyed the party’s chances of taking the white house in November.  That, my dear friends, is where her power truly lies.  It is in the power of destruction that the right honorable Senator Clinton shines the brightest.  Her campaign aside, and her half hearted approval of the brand new thing out of my perview, I see big things for Mrs. Clinton.  I can see her dwindling support in New York for the more progressive up and comers of the near future.  I can see another book with dismal sales in comparison to her first soliloquy.  Perhaps she will falter along the same path as Albert Gore.  She may indeed find a niche in politics yet.  She may take over for the ailing member of America’s own royal family as the most liberal of all.  Or perhaps she will just drift away into the congressional record as John Kerry has done.

Now comes before us, with charisma and charm, hizzoner, the brother from another mother that we all embrace as the saviour from ourselves, Mr. Senator Barack Obama!  He is, in his own right, a formidable opponent to the aged Senator McCain.  However, I am getting very irritated with the attitudes I have heard.  There are numerous who say, “it’s about time”.  How exactly, pray tell, is it ‘about time’.  We have been electing men to the white house for over two hundred years.  How is he different.  Oh, wait, could it be?  Could it be because he is a minority?  I was under the impression that we were no longer to see different races as different at all, but rather as the same with alterations to the physical manifestations we call bodies.

In short (yeah, right. this is my blog) I would not vote against the man because he is black (african-american, of african descent, melanin enhanced, non-caucasian).  I also, in like form, will not vote for him because he is.  Is it to be believed that by electing this man to the highest job in the joint that we will somehow atone for our past grievances against the african people?

Here it is my friends, my officially unofficial American Idol blog.  I admit it, I have nothing else to write about at this point.  Obama is going after McCain now instead of Hillary, so the news is little on that subject.  Myanmar is still screwing up things and the UN is still kissing their ass to try to help them.  At this point I am sure that diseases they are worried about are effecting the citizens of that lovely little country.  On a lighter note, the GOP is directly responsible for the disaster in Myanmar and even more directly responsible for the military junta being put into place in the first place.

Okay, on to American Idol.  This mornings new is abuzz with the most important information the associated press could offer us.  Jeff Archuletta, the father of the Mickey Mouse Club and Cub Scout performer, David, has been removed the backstage affairs of the hit television series.  Fox said very little about it.  Imagine that.  Jason Castro who was caught by TMZ.com at LAX had this to say about it, “huh?”.  The wires are screaming at this point at such a turn of events in our lives.  Evidently, Mr Archuletta has taken his son’s fame to new heights and cost AI producers more money than they had anticipated by mixing and matching lyrics to songs that were extremely boring in the first place.

I am not a big fan of the miracle voiced child.  Yes, he can sing, but he has the personality that we read about later on thesmokinggun.com.  The business will eat him alive and he is not an ‘icon’ or idol.  Mr. Cook has what it takes to sell records.  Mstr. Archuletta will do well on Disney cruise ships and the Nickelodeon channels.

The United Nations, my favorite entity, is shaking down the poor downtrodden people of Myanmar.  Simply because they are seizing the food the UN gives and giving it to their army (supposedly).  Once again, the United States has bent to the whims of another nation.  We begged and pleaded and now we can fly one C-130 over their airspace to deliver aid to their hungry, sick and tired people.  We should feel so honored that they would allow us to help them.  We should call Nueve de Mayo the day that the Myanmarrians (as opposed to Burmese, like the pythons) let us spend millions of dollars to give them things they need.

There is no shortage of America bashers in the world.  I am not always pleased with the outcome of several of our policies, myself.  However, when a country needs help, friend or foe, we seem to make sure we have enough money to spend on some little south east asian family regardless of whether they want it or not.  At the same time, there are miners out of work and loggers that haven’t seen a decent payday in years that could use some of that money to get re-trained into some other form of work.  Some folks just don’t like welfare, they would rather work.

Also in the news today is the desperate swan song that the Hillary campaign is singing.  She vows that she will fight until the bitter end.  I am still trying to figure out why she doesn’t just have her opponent disappear like so many others have in the presence of the Clinton crime family.  Mr Obammy is getting ready to sing his victory dance on May 20 according to some news sources.  I guess he just figures he is entitled to it.  Never mind that he hasn’t explained to anyone how he is going to do all these wonderful things he plans on doing.  Even HRH has tried, in vain, to give some details of how she will accomplish something.  Now I need to go wash my hands and perhaps my keyboard.

Mr. McCain is too old for this job.  He won’t make it through his first term,  That will leave us with Mr. Liebermann!  Oddly enough, I am strangely comfortable with that idea.  I won’t get church shoved in my face every time I turn around, but I also won’t have to hear about how horrible Christians and Jews are for not being muslim and sensitive to the muslim horde.  I think they call that middle of the road politics…I think those are uniters in the true sense.

It will be interesting to watch, nonetheless.

Okay, so I understand we are the world police and we are always first in line to send aid to some nation that has been hit by a massive catastrophe, but can we really be expected to beg someone to let us help them? Well, that is exactly what is happening in Myanmar (formerly known as Burma). Evidently the military junta doesn’t like us. What a friggen coinkydink!

I am so disgusted by the whole ordeal. They don’t want our help. Quit trying to force feed them our food. We have poor people in THIS country who would LOVE the air drops. I officially hate people today.

I have noticed that blogging is becoming more difficult. I haven’t been able to write for quite a while. I am pretty much at a loss for words on politics. I am so disgusted with the current state of affairs that I am hating having to choose the lesser between three demonic evils.

I absolutely despise both Democratic candidates and I can’t get all warm and fuzzy over the Republican candidate either. Ron Paul is a sad state of affairs all to himself. By all rights, this thing with the Democrats should already be over. Barack Obama is the fresh, new change. Just ask the Omatics. He is supposedly representing everything we need to change in this country. Hillary Clinton has obviously used some of her ‘experience’ to buy this election. I am still not convinced she is out for the count. I will not be surprised if it is her against the McCain/Lieberman ticket. That is another moot point.

John McCain teamed up with Joe Lieberman will decimate the Democratic ticket regardless of who wins the squabble.
