Last night, Katie and I took the brood out to our friends, Jeannie and Chuck’s. I am going to be house sitting for them and i had to get my walk through. We had pizza (from hometown or downtown or bistro or whatever they call it now). It was absolutely awesome. Brennan made Chuck his daily hero as he had Weinhardt’s Root Beer. Ashton disposed of three pieces of pizza and suffered many wounds from the rambling puppies, but all was good in the end. Brennan and Ashton both got to ride Chester. They both lit up and rode around the arena quite a bit. It was an awesome site. There is just something about boys and horses. They make a great pair. Brennan listened intently to Jeans isntructions and I was very impressed with his balance. Ashton relaxed quickly when he hit the saddle and let us trot him around the arena. I was very proud of him. All in all, it was a great night. Ashton was out before we hit the highway and I packed him in to bed. He got the bottom bunk because his almost 70 pound sleeping hulkness would have killed me to put him on the top. After Aunt (ONT) Stephie left, he decided he liked the top better. Up this morning before 6:30 to get everyone where they needed to be. I think I need a nap.
oh yes they say pregnancy is a beautiful thing and I know I am being a huge whiner… and well I’m pretty much ok with it. Whoever made it possible to be big and fat and pregnant when it is 90 degrees outside should really have to go through it once. I know I know there are women all over the world in hotter places than I am and they’ve been doing it for millions of years and I feel for them I do but this is my pity party darn it.
Other than that we had a lovely weekend. Laurie and Xander came to visit and we hung out and went to the beach and had lots of fun.
Tomorrow my sister Steph flies in for a week which should also be lots of fun. Although with the motivation level I’ve got going on at the moment I can’t promise the house will be clean or the laundry done so she can have blankets to sleep with… oh who am I kidding it’s ninety degrees what on earth does anyone need a blanket for??
Oh and tomorrow we have another ultra sound scheduled so maybe just maybe this time the little monster who likes to kick me in the ribs … oops I said that out loud didn’t I? I mean the sweet little one we can’t wait to meet..maybe he or she will cooperate just this once so we can know if we should buy pink or blue. I’ll keep you posted
Time to go be my happy lil self and make some dinner before the boys start chewing on each others arms. (or maybe just time for a nap??)
Well I know I said I was going to be better about posting on here and keeping everyone up to date but as you can see I haven’t been very good about it…we’ll just go with life’s been busy? Ha isn’t that a constant issue.
So there’s one major announcement we have yet to make on here probably most of you already know but we are expecting a new little Blumenauer in November. We are very excited about this .. even more so these days as the baby is starting to move around and of course I get bigger everyday (love that). We had our first ultra sound this morning. I don’t know what it is but it is absolutely amazing to see that little tiny person wiggling around on that little black and white screen. We were unable to establish whether it will be a boy baby or a girl baby because the little stinker had the umbilical cord pulled up between it’s legs with such efficiency that we couldn’t even get a maybe (aren’t we surprised that this child is stubborn?? haha I’m in so much trouble I think).

What we were able to establish however is that this baby already has Bill’s demeanor (scary right haha jk love you honey)the little turkey was all curled up in there with one hand above it’s head and one over it’s face it’s a little eerie if you ask me as today when Bill came home from work he fell asleep on the couch in just the exact same way. Oh and also, as she was moving the wand around you could see the baby being entirely irritated as it reached up and poked back with one little finger.. quite funny and incredibly cute. It just makes me all that much more excited I can’t wait to meet the little one.
We of course have the gender war going on here the boys have all decided that it HAS to be another boy and I keep telling them that it HAS to be a girl or I’m going to go crazy lol. Ash jumps back and forth between the fences but Bill and Brennan stand firm that it has to be a boy so I guess we will see soon enough.
First of all Happy Mothers Day to everyone. I am currently trying not to do anything productive…direct orders from the husband. Yea I’m thinkin that’s going to last all of about ten more minutes but it’s the thought that counts anyway! (I pretty much suck at being still)
I think what we will actually be doing today is getting the bedrooms re-organized and maybe just maybe finding some kind of organization for the 8 billion toys that are currently scattered throughout the lower level of the house lol.
I had an official bad wife moment yesterday I figure if I just come right out and admit it, it won’t be nearly as much fun for him to tell ‘his version’ HA! I decided that lasagna would work for dinner yesterday and while I know home made is waaaay better I bought a stouffers frozen one..which I thought I had tried before and liked but .. I was wrong. Turns out it had chunks of tomato in it so my dear husband ate lima beans and garlic bread for dinner. So later I thought I would make up for it by making a cake which turned out great, that is until I tried to frost it and it wasn’t quite cool enough so I sort of murdered it. Oh well it tasted good? lol sometimes I am brilliant.
So Grandma is doing exceptionally well. She is in a rehabilitation department and is slowly and steadily making a hasty healing. She is still tired, but is managing to get some rest. She has many frequent visitors. I stopped by Sunday night to play a game of cribbage with her. She was in good spirits. It is nice to see her smile and hear her laugh a little.
Brennan is getting ready for summer already. He is hanging on to the last couple weeks of school before his annual freedom fest begins and he doesn’t have to wake up at 6:20. His spring concert (or whatever they are called) is on May 21st at the Jr/Sr High School. I am assuming that the even begins at either six or seven p.m. but will advise everyone ahead of time when I get a confirmation on that. He is pretty excited about some of the selections they have this year.
Katie has been working while I sit on my butt staring at clouds all day. (okay, a little stretched, but I had the day off today and she didn’t
)
She is officially a brand name deal now. Her little card that lets the government track her whereabouts and deduct money from her paycheck came in the mail yesterday. It took up two lines to put her new name on there. I think that is hilarious.
I go back to work tomorrow. I kind of like having four days off, but for some reason, with all the driving I have done, I don’t feel like I had any time off.
Last Saturday, we went out and took pictures for a couple of hours. The results of which are posted both on Katie’s Myspace and in our photo gallery here.
Sunday, Katie made us some serious biscuits and gravy. They were phenominal. Other than that, there hasn’t been a whole lot going on other than everyday life. I will hopefully have some other news soon.
